IN CHARACTER
Name: Rose Tyler
Canon: Doctor Who
Canon Point: Pre Stolen Earth before she gets teleported to the proper Earth.
Age: 24

History: Before Rose met the Doctor she was working as a shop assistant at Henrik's department store in Regent Street, London. She lived a fairly normal if not predictable life, (get up, go the work, hang out with the boyfriend, watch matches at pubs, go to sleep and repeat the next day) until she met the Doctor and Henrik's was destroyed.

From that moment on Rose was thrown into a world aliens and travelling through time and space and along the way she discovered that travelling with the Doctor was anything but predictable as she was thrown into danger after danger on a regular basis. But she never shunned away from this new way of life, instead she thrived on it.

She tricked the Doctor into taking her to see her dad before he died. During that adventure she tried to save her dad’s life but that brought the Reapers making things much worse. Ultimately, Rose had to watch her dad die but not before being there with him until his last breath causing her to be the woman that her mum mentions in stories of being there with him as he was dying when she was a little girl.

Soon the Doctor, Jack Harkness and Rose found themselves aboard a space station (Satellite Five) that was owned by the Bad Wolf Corporation and were attacked by thousands of Daleks. Fearing for Rose life the Doctor tricked Rose into entering the TARDIS which he had rigged to send her back home to her mum. Refusing to just forget about her best friends who were fighting for their lives in the distant future, Rose convinced both Jackie and Mickey to help her open the heart of the TARDIS so she could talk it into taking her back to help them.

Looking into the heart of the TARDIS (the time vortex) resulted with Rose consuming the vortex energy, giving her control of the universe itself. She became the Bad Wolf entity. She and the TARDIS returned to the Doctor, who was just about to be exterminated, and using her newfound powers she reduced the entire Dalek fleet into dust and brought Jack (who had been previously exterminated) back to life and killed the Dalek Emperor. She could see all of time and space, everything there ever was, is, and will be.

She took the words, “Bad Wolf” in her goddess like state and spread them all over time and space as a message to herself. However, no one should ever look into the time vortex, and so much power was killing her. Luckily the Doctor extracted the vortex energy with a kiss, sacrificing his ninth regeneration. Before Rose's very eyes he regenerated into the Tenth Doctor.

Rose at first found it difficult to come to terms with the Doctor's transformation but when he saved her life (and the rest of the world) from the Sycorax, she was finally convinced that this strange-looking man was truly the Doctor.

The pair continued to travel through time and space, growing closer than ever before. Her attitude changed from an awe-struck passenger to an experienced time-traveller getting to meet and by banished by Queen Victoria, encountering a werewolf, getting her face sucked up by the Wire and other adventures.

However their fun and games came crashing down when they landed on the impossible planet where the Devil itself was trapped. It taunted Rose with promises that she would die in battle and though she managed to push those scary thoughts aside for some time. These promises soon become a reality when the pair stumbled across Torchwood.

The world soon found itself caught in the middle of a war against the Daleks and the Cybermen. The Doctor figured out a way to trap both sides in the Void between their world and a parallel world (Pete's world), Rose stubbornly stayed behind to help, having made a choice to stay with the Doctor rather than her family, while her mum was safe in the parallel world with her alternate dad and Mickey. In doing so, Rose’s grip slipped from one of the levers and she almost fell to her death into the Void. Luckily her alternate dad jumped back to the proper world to save her but in doing do Rose was trapped in the parallel world with her family.

Devastated, Rose tried to get on with her life but soon found herself having strange dreams where the Doctor would call to her. Following those dreams she found herself in Norway and a beach called Bad Wolf Bay. The Doctor managed to project an image of himself through the last crack between the two realities so they could share a tearful goodbye only it didn’t go as planned and the Doctor faded away before finishing his sentence.

Not one to give up, however, Rose pressed on with her work at Torchwood, getting them to work along with UNIT to build a device that could perhaps get her back to her proper universe called the Dimension Cannon. It failed to work the first couple of times and then one day as the stars started to go out and the walls started to break down the device started to work sending Rose across various different universes in search of the Doctor. Still not being able to find him, she continued on in her quest, believing that she would reach him eventually. She ran into his current companion Donna Noble by mistake and soon learned that she was needed if the universe was going to be saved.

She met up with Donna several times in a parallel universe that was created around her. One in which she had never met the Doctor. She attempted to explain the gravity of the situation to the ginger haired woman and lead her back to the Doctor in the proper universe but not before leaving Donna with two words, "Bad Wolf" to tell him when she got back.

After several more attempts Rose finally made it back to her original universe only to find it under attack from the Daleks. Her reunion with the Doctor was cut short in part thanks to them as he was shot down before she could reach him but all was not lost as she reached him and he had a regeneration scare not really regenerating. After getting captured and boarding the Crucible, she met the clone version of the Doctor and some of the Doctor's other past companions. They stopped Davros and returned the stolen twenty seven planets.

But instead of her staying in her proper universe as she had thought, the Doctor brought her back to Bad Wolf Bay instructing her that she had to stay there with his clone because he needed her influence, she was reluctant at first and demanded that he answer her as far as to what he was going to say on that very same beach so long ago. He didn't answer however causing her to ask the very same question to the other Doctor who whispered the answer in her ear. The answer caused her to kiss him even though he wasn't her original Doctor. Before she knew it, the Doctor had left with the TARDIS without giving her a chance to say goodbye to him.

Personality: Rose has shown herself to be a quick-witted, inquisitive and compassionate young woman, who despite the strange events she was thrown into, was quick to adapt to them. For example, she went from being a shop girl working in a department store to the Doctor's companion in an instant. It was her luck to leave the shop late and get stuck having to give Winston the lottery money. When she goes to the basement and discovers the mannequins, she instantly thinks that it's a prank by one of her co-workers, Derek. Just as she is cornered and the Doctor takes her hand telling her to run, she runs with him and starts to deduce that maybe they're students not knowing that aliens were real at that moment.

Once her shop has been blown up and she encounters the Doctor at her flat, he explains about aliens and the window shop dummies and Rose realizes that aliens now exist. She's relentless and follows the Doctor around with questions about aliens and himself. Even when told to forget about him, she still tries to find out more, seeking out a bloke named Clive, who has information about the Doctor and things that he has done.

She is very observant, noticing things that the Doctor does not. Such as the London Eye being the source of the signal for the living window shop dummies, which is something that went over the Doctor's head completely.

She can tend to get very curious about things, which can sometimes lead her to run into trouble. Once curiosity has her, it's hard for her to break away from it like when she encounters her dad, who died when she was a baby, back in time and she talks to him and tries to get to know him despite the Doctor telling her that it is dangerous. It is also obvious that she cares deeply about the Doctor, although she denies any infatuation with or romantic feelings towards him, despite indications to the contrary on several occasions, like when Mickey calls her on it and she says that the Doctor is so much better than a boyfriend. It is only when time is running out on her and she knows that she'll probably never ever see the Doctor again, is when she admits her true feelings towards the Doctor telling him that she loved him.

Rose’s strength as far as the physical goes lies in her running. She’s a pretty good runner given her experiences in the past with the Doctor and in the parallel world. Like when she first meets the Doctor in the cellar and then runs from the Autons, which were the widow shop dummies. Or, when she was with the Tenth Doctor and they were chasing after a Hoix, also an alien, with a bucket in hopes of stopping it, demonstrating it also when running away from the werewolf they encountered when they met Queen Victoria.

Her strength is in her compassion and understanding. An example of this is when she first encountered a Dalek, one of the Doctor’s sworn enemies, and tried to understand it while the Doctor rushed in armed. She was trying to reason with it and saw no need to really kill it. Another example can be found when she encounters her first alien, who works in maintenance, besides the Doctor on the space station and she talks to the alien like she would a normal person; or, when she encountered Elton and found out about her mum. Elton had been using Jackie to get information about Rose and the Doctor. While she was angry at the time, she calmed down and listened to what he had to say, feeling awful for him since he had lost his girlfriend and his mates to the absorbing alien. She sympathized with him.

She’s very determined when she sets her sights on a certain thing like getting back to her world. When the Doctor tried to send her away at Torchwood to be with her mum and Pete in the parallel world, Rose wasn't having any of it and decided to leave Mickey, her mum, and dad behind in the other world to be with the Doctor and help him out with the Dalek and Cybermen invasion. She had made her choice, choosing him over her own family no matter the cost.

Despite the disappointments, she’s good at masking them behind a smile or changing the subject completely. An example would be when she encounters Donna in another world and when Rose gets the bad news that the Doctor has died, she turns away and focuses on a different subject.

Rose’s compassion can also be considered a weakness. She has a tendency to wander off a lot, especially when the Doctor tells her not to. When something sparks her interest, she tends to follow it without really taking into consideration of others. An example of this was when she took off with the Doctor and they got back a year later: she could’ve called her mum while she was away, but didn’t since she was too wrapped up with exploring. She gave no consideration of the ramifications of her disappearance, even as Mickey was a suspect in it.

Also, anything that might involve the Doctor could be a weakness. If there's a threat on his life, her rational thinking tends to go out the window, not really thinking of consequences that could result from her actions. When he sends Rose home the first time in "The Parting of the Ways", she gets her mum and Mickey to help her get the TARDIS going again to send her back to where the Doctor is to save him. She considers that she might not come back, but she doesn't care as her feelings are too strong for him. She'd rather him live.

Rose is very brash and single minded when it comes to certain things like getting back to the Doctor no matter the cost. Despite the stars going out and universes collapsing, she keeps crossing universes to find him. She's also very sad and lonely, but she won't let on to it since her experiences in the parallel world have hardened her just a bit. Such as working late nights at Torchwood on the Dimension Cannon, missing out on important family events like birthday parties or holiday functions to focus on work and getting back to her proper world. Refusing invitations by Mickey and Jake to take her out to places in an attempt to get her mind off things.

Abilities/Skills: Rose is good at running but has no real powers to speak of unless you count the one time she absorbed the heart of the vortex into her body and didn't die. But that was only a one time deal. She is skilled with a gun.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Rose’s strength as far as the physical goes lies in her running. She’s a pretty good runner given her experiences in the past with the Doctor and in the parallel world. Like when she first meets the Doctor in the cellar and then runs from the Autons. Or when she was with the Tenth Doctor and they were chasing after a Hoix with a bucket in hopes of stopping it.

When something sparks her interest she tends to follow it without really taking into consideration of others. Like when she took off with the Doctor and they got back a year later without even informing her mother being too wrapped up in exploring.

Also, anything that might involve the Doctor could be a weakness. If there's a threat on his life, her rational thinking tends to go out the window, not really thinking of consequences that could result from her actions. Like when he sends her home the first time in "The Parting of the Ways" and she does whatever it takes to get back to him and save his life, despite it almost causing her to lose her own in the process.

Um. Hello out there. Anyone getting this?

[There’s a pause and she’s hesitant.]

Well if you are I suppose I should introduce myself yeah? My name’s Rose Tyler and I reckon I’m not the only one that’s just found themselves here. So with that said, how many of you out there from Earth? Or another planet?

Prose/Action Sample: Control had messed up. Again. At least that was her initial thought after the debriefing. She wasn't supposed to be here. She should have been on Earth by now, close to where the TARDIS was and not aboard some strange ship with a communication device and a change of clothes which resembled a uniform. At some point she'd had to change but for the moment, Rose Tyler walked to the observation deck. With a sigh, she leaned against the rail watching the stars. It had been ages since she had seen the sky scape like this recalling various times in the TARDIS. That old wooden blue ship. Would she ever see it again? Ever see him again?

The stars were so bright and she was grateful in a way, at least whatever was going on in her dimension with the stars going out certainly hadn’t touched this dimension. But it still was troubling. How could she warn him now? Her only hope was Donna. Hopefully the strong haired ginger woman had made it back to Earth with her message.

As Rose let her thoughts drift from getting back to her proper Earth and what lay ahead, a soft voice started to call out and caused her to direct her attention from the sky scape to look behind her shoulder. No one there. Perhaps she was just tired? She shrugged her shoulders and returned her gaze back to the sky. She wasn’t panicked. There was just no need to. This was just a small detour. Nothing she hadn’t experienced before. There had to be some way to get back home.
